Anyone can become a light entrepreneur if they want to invoice for their own work. You are considered a light entrepreneur if you employ yourself and operate in an entrepreneurial manner. You can be a light entrepreneur as a private individual without a Business ID (Y-tunnus) or occasionally invoice via an invoicing service with a Business ID.
To work as a light entrepreneur through the UKKO service, you must be liable to have a permanent address and pay taxes in Finland, you must verify your identity with our service, and you must have a valid salary tax card in the OmaVero service. We also need your IBAN-format bank account number, to which we pay your salary once your client has paid your invoice.
When you operate through our UKKO Light Entrepreneur service, you are covered by accident and liability insurance.
Please note that a private trader with an existing Business ID cannot invoice their own salary as a light entrepreneur, nor can a shareholder of a limited company use the invoicing service to pay themselves a salary from their own company.
If you have an active business ID, please contact our private trader customer service so we can determine the most suitable invoicing option for you. If you are interested in establishing a Business ID and want to invoice occasionally, light entrepreneurship with a Business ID may suit you.
