Yes, UKKO.fi handles collection if you have selected automatic payment monitoring for your invoice.
When invoicing, it is possible to choose automatic payment monitoring, which requires a 14-day payment term, or 7-day payment terms when invoicing business customers. Automatic payment monitoring sends the invoice for collection when 14 days have passed since the due date. In this case, the status of the invoice changes to "Collection".
The debt collection office sends official payment reminders for all overdue invoices automatically after 14 days. The collection agency's payment request starts 28 days after the due date of the invoice.
For an invoice that has progressed to collection, your customer can contact the collection agency directly about moving the due date or a payment plan.
It is possible to activate payment monitoring afterwards by contacting customer service.
We cooperate with the collection agency Kravia Finland Oy.
Business collection and consumer collection
Corporate debt collection differs from consumer debt collection in that, in business debt collection, after a payment reminder and a payment demand, it is possible to send a letter to the company, if the invoice has not been disputed. For the company, Tratta means payment default entry. After Tratta is sent, the matter proceeds to the consideration of legal collection.
In consumer collection, after the payment reminder and payment demand, the consideration of legal collection begins.
Legal collection
If the debt collection invoices are not paid despite reminder invoices and payment demands, you have the option to file a lawsuit against the invoice. A lawsuit can be filed if the amount of the invoice exceeds €120 and the claim is undisputed. After the lawsuit is filed, legal collection begins, when the case is judged by the district court.
Please note that filing a lawsuit is not completely risk-free. If your client contests the matter and it is considered in the defendant's favor, the court costs and other fees will be paid by you.
A written assignment agreement helps in disputes
We recommend always making a written commission agreement for the work performed. A written assignment agreement shows that the work performance and the price have been agreed with the customer. The agreement is absolutely important, for example, in cases where the invoice progresses to legal collection and the customer disputes the matter.
