What do I need to invoice through the UKKO Kevytyrittäjä service?

In order for you to invoice as a light entrepreneur through the UKKO service, what we need from you after registration are 

• strong identification,
• your tax card,
• your IBAN account number and
• the guardian's consent, if you are a minor.

Identification

Identification is mandatory in order to use our service and get paid.

You can make a strong identification either with bank credentials or a handwriting sample (InkSign)
or with a mobile certificate. We need one of these credentials for you to use
our service and get paid. The Login section should appear on the front page of your UKKO account. See the instructions below for everything you need to identify yourself, depending on your citizenship:

Finnish citizen

• If you are a Finnish citizen and have a Finnish bank's online banking credentials, you can make a strong identification electronically and declare your Finnish citizenship in the service.
• If you are a Finnish citizen, but you do not have online banking credentials, we need a photo identification from you. For photo identification, we need a photo of you holding a valid ID next to your face. A Finnish passport or identity card is accepted as proof of identity.

Citizens of the EU/EEA region

• If you are a citizen of the EU/EEA region and have a Finnish bank's online banking credentials, you can make a strong identification electronically. In addition, select your nationality in the service.
• In order to be able to identify you, we need a photo identification from you. For photo identification, we need a photo of you holding a valid ID next to your face. A valid passport or identity card from an EU/EEA/CH country is accepted as proof of identity.

Citizens from outside the EU/EEA area

• If you are not a citizen of the EU/EEA region, but you have the online banking credentials of a Finnish bank, you can make a strong identification electronically. In addition, select your nationality in the service.
• If you don't have Finnish bank credentials, in order to be able to identify you, we need a photo identification from you. For photo identification, we need a photo of you holding a valid ID next to your face. A valid passport or residence permit is accepted as a proof of identity. 
• You need to have residence permit in Finland. We need photos from both sides of the residence permit. A residence permit must be issued before you can send invoices via UKKO.fi.

We have stopped checking the work permits of foreign persons on January 17, 2024. The responsibility for monitoring work permits rests with the employing entity, i.e. the client. When the checks are stopped on UKKO.fi's side, it will lighten our workload and make it easier for foreign users to start using the service.

Note! A driver's license or a foreigner's passport are not acceptable forms of identification. Also note that an asylum seeker's right to work cannot carry out business activities (as an entrepreneur or light entrepreneur)

Tax card

We receive your tax card information directly from the tax official, as long as you have a valid tax card in OmaVero. Every time you log into your UKKO account or your salary is calculated, we update your tax card information.

You can see your tax rate on the front page of your UKKO account. If you are a pensioner and you work as a light entrepreneur without business ID through UKKO.fi, you need a normal salary income tax card.

If you make a change tax card in OmaVero, we will retrieve the information of your new tax card every time you log in or your salary is calculated. Read more about tax card delivery here.

IBAN account number for salary payment

We need your account number for salary payment. The account number must be in IBAN format. The IBAN account number is used for SEPA payments (single euro payment area) in Europe and the EFTA region. So you can have a Finnish account number or an IBAN account number from a SEPA country.

Guardian's consent

If you are under 18 years old and do not yet have bank credentials, you can identify yourself
With InkSign. A mere signature is not enough, we also need a picture of yourself and
of your identity card.

Take a picture of yourself so that your face appears in the picture with your ID. Download image
to your computer and save it to our service. After that, click "Choose File" and "send
file".

Underage light entrepreneur always needs guardian's consent. After identifying yourself your guardian will electronically or physically sign a consent form, after which you can start invoicing through our service.

It's ready. Now you can send your customer the first invoice!
