The UKKO light entrepreneur with business ID -service prepares the business tax return (5) for you.
When you have an active UKKO account at the turn of the year, you don't have to worry about your company's tax return, we take care of it for you. However, we need some additional information from you for the tax return.
At the turn of the year, we will open a tax declaration survey on the UKKO -service about future deductions for the tax declaration. Fill in the survey with the deductions you want for your private trader's tax return and we'll take care of it from there. You can answer the survey by logging into our service. The survey can be found immediately in the initial view after logging in. We will send information by e-mail when the survey has opened and you can answer it.
What deductions can be declared in the tax return questionnaire?
In the tax return survey, we ask for example about the office deduction, commuting expenses and daily allowances.
If you do not apply for deductions
Even if you do not apply for any deductions with a tax return, still fill out the tax return questionnaire and choose that you have nothing to deduct.
Why did I receive two paper tax returns in the mail?
As an entrepreneur, you will receive both your personal pre-filled tax return and your business tax return in paper form by post, both of them must be taken care of.
You don't have to worry about the paper declaration of your business activity (form 5), because we will make your tax declaration electronically for you.
However, you must check the personal pre-filled tax return yourself. The due date for the personal tax return is the same as entrepreneur's declaration of business activities, and it is the first of the graduated deadlines - so quickly check the declaration when it lands in the mailbox!
Which form do I put a deduction on?
If you are a part-time entrepreneur, you may be entitled to a workroom deduction and a travel expense deduction also with a personal tax return.
In other words, if you have been working from home doing both your paid work and work related to your business, you can apply for a workplace deduction with both tax returns. The size of the deduction depends on how much work you have done at home. Evaluate the deduction category for paid work and entrepreneurship each separately.
If you have purchased furniture for your home office, such as an electric desk or an office chair, you can also deduct their expenses in taxation. Please note here that the same piece of furniture can only be declared with one tax return - the piece of furniture has only been purchased once! You can enter it either on the company's tax return or on your personal return.
Unemployment fund and trade union membership fees are always deducted with a personal tax return. Even if you work as a full-time entrepreneur and belong to Yrittäjäkassa, membership fees are deductible expenses in personal (not company) taxation.
